Description: Developing a self-care plan as a helping professional can enhance your health and well being, manage your stress, and maintain professional boundaries and growth. In this presentation, the goal is to help you learn to identify activities and practices that support your well being as a professional and help you to sustain positive self-care in the long-term.

Adriana Argueta: “When people of any age experience stress, trauma, grief, or any major life change, it is not uncommon to feel like their whole lives are coming undone. My passion is bringing healing and wellness to anyone who has been through such an experience. I work with children, adolescents, couples and families to find the best version of themselves, strengthen their relationships, and learn to care for themselves in a way that makes them feel more peaceful, whole, and safe. Through over 14 years of experience as a therapist, I know that no one approach is going to work for everyone. I use techniques of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Family Systems Theory. I like to be flexible and open to help find the best way for all involved. My educational background includes extensive training in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault/Abuse Crisis, Complex Trauma, and Mindfulness. I have a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelors in Psychology from Barat College. I currently work in private practice but also previously in child welfare, where I gained much valuable experience. My main focus these days is being a Stay at Home mom to my boys Joaquin (8) and Dante (5) with my husband, Carlos. I also love to craft, read, and drink too much coffee. I am always looking for inspiration and sharing quotes (probably too many) with my friends and family. My next goal is to complete my Yoga Teacher Training.”
