Outdoor Chores, Not Just Mom/Dad's Job....

Getting your kids involved in outdoor chores can be an excellent way to help teach responsibility, spend time as a family and get everyone involved and potentially learning new skills. My 4 year old son came home from daycare this week ecstatic because he got to help weed the garden. Tasks that we might find mundane or tedious can be exciting to kids! When deciding what chores your child could help with consider the following:
1. Your child's age
2. What safety precautions should be taken?
3. What is are realistic expectations?

You should also keep in mind that you are going to need to teach your children how to do these chores, and usually that means showing them (multiple) times and supervising as they go.

See our Facebook posts this month for age-appropriate ideas of outdoor chore your child(ren) could help with.
